Vaihtokaista toimii puhelimessa kuin sovellus ilman sovelluskauppaa: lisäät sivuston aloitusnäytölle, ja se avautuu omasta kuvakkeestaan ilman selaimen palkkeja.
Samalla voit ottaa käyttöön ilmoitukset laitteeseen, jolloin tieto uudesta viestistä tai hakuvahdin osumasta tulee heti, vaikka sivusto ei olisi auki.
Android (Chrome)
- Open vaihtokaista.fi in Chrome.
- Open the browser menu (the three dots in the top right corner).
- Select Add to Home screen or Install app, then confirm Install.
- The Vaihtokaista icon will appear on the home screen. Open the app from there.
Samsung Internet and other Chromium-based browsers work the same way: from the menu, choose Add page to or Add to Home screen.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open vaihtokaista.fi in Safari. Other browsers on iPhone can't add the site to the Home Screen.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll through the menu and select Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open Vaihtokaista from the Home Screen icon. On iPhone, notifications only work in the app opened this way (iOS 16.4 or later).
Enable notifications
- Log in and open My account › My details.
- Under Notifications on device, tap Enable on this device and allow notifications when the browser asks.
- Choose which events you want notifications for: new messages, search alert matches, price drops on your favourites, review and expiry of your listings, and customer service replies.
- Repeat this on every device where you want notifications. The same prompt is also shown when you save a search alert or open Messages.
Notifications always also appear in the service bell, and e-mail is sent separately according to the E-mail notifications settings.
Turn notifications off
- From one device: My details › Notifications on device › Disable on this device.
- From all devices at once: in the same place, select Remove from all devices.
- Off completely: turn off the Push notifications switch, and notifications will not be sent to any device even if they have been enabled.
- For one topic: clear the tick for that event. E-mails are selected in their own section.
- You can also block notifications in the browser or phone settings. In that case, Vaihtokaista can't send them until you allow them again.
If you are not receiving notifications
- On iPhone, notifications only work from Vaihtokaista added to the Home Screen, not from a Safari tab.
- Check your phone's notification settings: on Android, notifications for Chrome or Vaihtokaista; on iPhone, Settings › Notifications › Vaihtokaista.
- Do Not Disturb and Focus modes silence notifications. Power saving may also delay them.
- Notifications are sent only to the logged-in account. If you signed out or changed account, enable notifications again.
- If the problem continues, disable notifications on the device and enable them again.
